Day of the Dead Masks-5th Grade

  1. Love your student work. I graduated with a degree in Art Education but was hired to be a librarian and have been in the library ever since. I always have an altar for di de los muertos and would love to have my students make masks similar to yours. Did you buy the white masks somewhere and have the children embellish them?

  2. Thank you, I have a set of plastic face molds that the students used cut up pieces of plaster of paris. Then once they dried the plaster pops right off the mold. Then they had to create a symmetrical design and paint. Finally the emellished with glitter glue and tissue flowers. The background is oil crayon on black poster board.
