  2. just discovered your blog (when I should be in bed). Nice stuff; love, love, LOVE the Asian landscapes. I assume you cut a wave stencil and then rubbed pencil or charcoal over the edge? Details please! They are great!

  6. sorry I haven't been on my site in awhile to view all the comments! Yes I used watercolor paper and masking tape. Regular paper the tape will not rip off nicely. Then we painted primary colors with tempera paint and finally I had different squares of sticky tape pre cut that they stuck on! Hope this helps :)

    1. And, you had them outline each square in sharpie. They are gorgeous and I can't wait to do them in my classroom in the fall. Thank you!

  7. Did the 1st graders put their own masking tape grid down, or did you pre-tape the papers for them??
