Check out what the students in Mrs. VandenBush's classroom are doing in art! Some of th lesson ideas I come up with, but many of these ideas come from other wonderful art teachers!
looks cool. why white lines???
just discovered your blog (when I should be in bed). Nice stuff; love, love, LOVE the Asian landscapes. I assume you cut a wave stencil and then rubbed pencil or charcoal over the edge? Details please! They are great!
I really love this Mondrian inspiration. Can you tell me how these were created? Thanks!
these look lovely all together
I love this project. Could you post the directions. Did you use tape to make the white lines?
sorry I haven't been on my site in awhile to view all the comments! Yes I used watercolor paper and masking tape. Regular paper the tape will not rip off nicely. Then we painted primary colors with tempera paint and finally I had different squares of sticky tape pre cut that they stuck on! Hope this helps :)
And, you had them outline each square in sharpie. They are gorgeous and I can't wait to do them in my classroom in the fall. Thank you!
Another great idea!
Did the 1st graders put their own masking tape grid down, or did you pre-tape the papers for them??
The students did the tape themselves.
Thanks! and the black outline....sharpies? used the tape as a guide or rulers??
I don't use watercolor paper for after school care projects only construction have you found any tape that doesn't rip the paper?
