3rd Grade Mexican Folk Art Mirrors
Thanks to my friend and co-worker Jenny from Artolazzi Blog for this idea :)
Contruction paper traced from a plastic/paper plate. Then I had different circle tracers to get the patterns. Students used tooling to create radial balance on center piece.
The center is actually tooling foil. I just used different size circle tracers (paper plates, formula containers, etc.) This I found was the easiest way for everyone to get perfect cicles :)
I love this idea....I'm excited to try with my PreK children. I think they will enjoy looking for round objects to trace, Im sure they are capable of finding something small , medium and large to trace. I might use the heavy duty foil paper....I've used it before and it works great.
What do you use to make these Mexican Folk Art Mirrors? Supplies and size information would be helpful. Thank you!

DeleteWhat do you use to mount them to the construction ppr?
ReplyDeleteHot Glue :)
ReplyDeleteDid they use colored paper? With paint or pastel?
ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea with wonderful results, but it would truly help to have some step by step instructions!
ReplyDeleteI would also like step by step instructions. These are beautiful!
