Check out what the students in Mrs. VandenBush's classroom are doing in art! Some of th lesson ideas I come up with, but many of these ideas come from other wonderful art teachers!
Really nice! I am sure that your students had a lot of fun creating those. I remember once, I created giant chess pieces with my grade 5 students...almost as big as the students. They just adored that!
Hi Leah, These are fantastic sculptures. Could you tell me how you approached the task with the children? We are about to look at primary colours and the work of Mondrian in my kindy class and this looks like the right sort of response task I am looking for. Thanks
This was a 2 day project. First we looked at and talked about Mondrian's art and the Primary colors. Then I had one box per table (4 students each) and the box went in the middle. I had tons of pre-cut squares of larger sizes (from roll paper~thinner stuff) in the primary colors plus black and white. The students used art paste to attach the squares. Art paste first and then ontop of square. Then the next class they finished covering the box and then I had smaller size squares they overlapped. I can't wait to show them off in our art show next week :)
These are GREAT for an Art Show!!!!
