Check out what the students in Mrs. VandenBush's classroom are doing in art! Some of th lesson ideas I come up with, but many of these ideas come from other wonderful art teachers!
just discovered your blog (when I should be in bed). Nice stuff; love, love, LOVE the Asian landscapes. I assume you cut a wave stencil and then rubbed pencil or charcoal over the edge? Details please! They are great!
sorry I haven't been on my site in awhile to view all the comments! Yes I used watercolor paper and masking tape. Regular paper the tape will not rip off nicely. Then we painted primary colors with tempera paint and finally I had different squares of sticky tape pre cut that they stuck on! Hope this helps :)
looks cool. why white lines???

ReplyDeleteI love this project. Could you post the directions. Did you use tape to make the white lines?

ReplyDeleteAnd, you had them outline each square in sharpie. They are gorgeous and I can't wait to do them in my classroom in the fall. Thank you!
DeleteAnother great idea!
ReplyDeleteDid the 1st graders put their own masking tape grid down, or did you pre-tape the papers for them??
ReplyDeleteThe students did the tape themselves.
ReplyDeleteThanks! and the black outline....sharpies? used the tape as a guide or rulers??
DeleteI don't use watercolor paper for after school care projects only construction have you found any tape that doesn't rip the paper?
