Check out what the students in Mrs. VandenBush's classroom are doing in art! Some of th lesson ideas I come up with, but many of these ideas come from other wonderful art teachers!
We studied Mexican Art and focused on the Aztec Sunstone. Then students drew a sun keeping straight lines on one half (sun and background) and curvy lines on the other half. Then studied warm/cool colors and how to blend colors. Students used warm colors on one half of their sun and then cool colors in background and then vice vera. Student learned that by switching their color groups they created contrast in their art.

Did you start with black paper then have them draw in pencil and outline in black pastels? Or did you start with white paper?
ReplyDeleteStarted with white paper, pencil, oil crayons and then finally outline with black oil crayon.
ReplyDeleteThese are amazing! Thanks for sharing the lesson.
